New Year, New Books!  Books In Homes USA is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting children in under-resourced communities in literacy and beyond. The Chicago Mainfreight team had the pleasure to work with Books in Homes USA at B.J. Ward Elementary School in Bolingbrook, IL. A free bookfair was held allowing each student to collect books of their choice.

There are significant disruptions to supply chains nationally caused by absenteeism due to the Omicron variant. Our Sydney branch has had a number of team members needing to isolate due to COVID infections which has overloaded our operations teams beyond their capacity.

Following the big celebration of Mainfreight Shanghai’s 21st Branch Anniversary, the previously successful combined Air and Ocean has now been split into two standalone branches for Air Freight and Ocean Freight to focus on each respective mode. Peter Koo will be the first Branch Manager of the Mainfreight Shanghai Airfreight Branch and responsible for driving the global development and direction of this airfreight. On January 1, 2022, Brexit will be one year away. For businesses, this means, among other things, an end to delayed customs declarations for imports into the UK and the introduction of full customs declarations and checks. From this date, a fully completed UK import declaration is mandatory.
