Shipment Centre Release | November 2025

What’s new?

With this release note we want to inform you about the changes that have been made with the Shipment Centre release of November 2025.

1. A new document upload section has been added to the create shipment page for customs country related shipments

When booking a shipment to a customs country (like Norway, United Kingdom, Switzerland, etc.) you now get an extra step in the booking process. This step is called ‘’Documents’’. In this step you are made more aware of the needed documents that are required for the pickup or delivery to your selected customs country.

If you forget to upload one of the required documents, you will get a warning popup notifying you that you have forgot to upload one or more of the required documents needed for this shipment. You will then get 2 options to choose from. Either upload the documents during the booking process, or send the documents after the booking by mail before a certain time period.

If one or more the required information needed on the customs documents (like HS code, address details, weights, etc.) are missing from the customs documents, we will be obliged to charge an administrative fee of 25 euro’s.

2. New customs related accessorials (instructions) added to the create shipment page for customs country related shipments

In the third step of the booking process, you now have to choose 2 of the 4 mandatory accessorials related to customs if you book a shipment to a customs related country. This to make sure Mainfreight gets the correct information on time regarding the customs clearance. These new mandatory accessorials are:

One accessorial of group A needs to be chosen and one from group B.

3. Mandatory to fill in a UN number when choosing the commodity Hazardous goods

If you have the option to book ADR shipments with Mainfreight, it will become mandatory to fill in a UN number once you have chosen the commodity Hazardous goods. Only customers which have given permission to book ADR shipments will have the option for the commodity Hazardous goods.

If the Commodity Hazardous goods is not visible for you and you do have ADR shipments, please reach out to your point of contact within Mainfreight and ask for permission.

4. Track & Trace hyperlink has been added to the Uploaded Shipment overview

You will now have to option to link back to the Mainchain tracking page by selecting the new Track&Trace hyperlink button which has been added to the booking portal. The new option can be found at the Shipment Overview -> Uploaded Shipments. Pressing this new link will open the detailed tracking page of that specific shipment within Mainchain.

This new option will only work once you have received a order conformation for that specific shipment.

5. Shipment Centre will get a new navigation header

The header within Shipment Centre will be changed to a more modern look an feel. The name Shipment Centre will be removed and changed to Mainchain. Instead of Shipment Centre it will get the more general name of the road transport booking environment within Mainchain, in simple terms ‘’Booking environment’’

In the price calculation module, you will now receive a warning before booking a shipment if the pallet size or weight does not meet the network requirements.
