Truck toll from July 2026 - the Netherlands

From 1 July 2026, the Dutch government will introduce a truck toll: a road toll for trucks with a maximum authorised mass of over 3,500 kg, regardless of whether they have a Dutch or foreign registration number. As in neighbouring countries, truck owners will then pay a fee for every kilometre driven. The truck toll applies to all Dutch motorways, a number of N-roads and some local roads near major cities. This measure will have a significant impact on transport costs within the Netherlands. To offset this government charge, Mainfreight is obliged to introduce a Truck toll. This toll, known as Truck toll NL, will be applied to our transport rates from 1 July and will be listed separately on our invoices.

We are closely monitoring developments regarding the truck toll and its impact. In the event of any changes, such as the discount announced by the government to take effect on 1 September, we will adjust the Truck toll where necessary. You will be informed of this in good time.

If you have any questions about the Truck Toll or would like to view the Truck Toll, please do not hesitate to contact us. We would be happy to explain this in more detail.
