Service Announcement - North Island Freight Update

Severe weather conditions across the North Island impacted freight movement and supply chain operations last week. This afternoon, KiwiRail has advised that track clearance has been granted for the North Island Main Trunk (NIMT) between Hamilton and Palmerston North, with speed restrictions in place over the repaired tracks.

Please note:

• New bookings on the NIMT corridor remain closed until Thursday to allow congestion to clear from both North Island and South Island Container Terminals.
• Mainfreight expects further updates from KiwiRail over the next 24–48 hours and will share any changes as soon as they become available.
