Notably, the route from Ghent to the UK hub was shortened from a 250 km road through the tunnel to an 85 km route via shipping from Zeebrugge to Tilbury. Similar adjustments in routes to Leeds showcased substantial kilometer savings. The optimization efforts not only save time for drivers by avoiding tunnel trains and ferries but also enhance international driver availability.
