Exporting to China? The Chinese Government have revised customs regulations | June 2018
The Chinese Government have increased requirements for specific additional information that we must include in order to process compliant FWB/FHL messaging and associated shipment documentation (MAWB, Manifest, HAWB) for all of your exports to China.
In order for Mainfreight to process your export shipments correctly, efficiently and maintaining compliance with the revised Chinese regulations we’ll require specific additional information to meet these obligations as published by the ‘Peoples Republic of China – General Administration of Customs’.
When do this come into effect?
June 1st 2018
Does this affect all shipments?
No. These enhancements only affect shipments terminating in mainland China. All transhipment cargo routing via China to another country of destination remain unaffected by these enhanced measures (e.g. SYD-SHA-FRA).
Mandatory Requirements and new details:
- Shipper / consignee telephone number (applicable to both MAWB and/or HAWB/Manifest)
- Shipper / consignee enterprise registration number (applicable to both MAWB and/or HAWB/Manifest)
Important note: The Maximum number of characters of the Identifying Number cannot exceed a maximum of 35 characters for the purposes of the FWB/FHL
Without this information shipments may experience delays. As a preventative measure to avoid any potential issues and penalties on arrival in China, Mainfreight will not uplift shipments until all information received is correct and in line with the new regulations allowing our teams to process a compliant shipment on your behalf. We believe this preventative measure is in the best interest of all parties.
