Digital Sales Support | EU Support Team

Are you ready to bring your creativity and eye for detail into a fast moving, supportive environment? Our European Digital Team, based in ‘s-Heerenberg (the Netherlands), is looking for someone who ensures that our everyday digital and marketing activities run smoothly across Europe. Do you enjoy supporting people and helping them succeed? If so, you could be the perfect fit for our team!

You’ll be working closely with branches throughout Europe and the Digital Teams across our international network (New Zealand, Australia, Americas and Asia) to ensure the Mainfreight brand remains strong, consistent, and unmistakably “Mainfreight”. You will join a young team of two, where personal development, collaboration, and helping each other grow are at the core of how we work.

What will you be doing?

As part of the European Digital Team, you play a key role in coordinating Europe‑wide initiatives. Your tasks include:

  • Managing the marketing mailbox and handle daily requests
  • Supporting Europe‑wide projects such as newsletters, photoshoots and sales campaigns
  • Creating flyers (Canva & In-Design), calendars, Christmas cards and email banners
  • Supporting with sales conferences
  • Updating website content through our CMS
  • Ordering branded stationery and business cards for branches
  • Maintaining and updating our EU brand book
  • Managing our intranet content and internal info screens
  • Ensuring all internal communication aligns with Mainfreight’s style

Who are we looking for?

Ideally, we're looking for a recent graduate or a candidate with little to a few years of experience in the field of marketing/communications/business. In bullet points, that looks like:

  • Eager to learn and comfortable taking on unfamiliar tasks
  • Proactive, hands‑on and not afraid to ask questions
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal (Dutch and English)
  • A sense of ownership and responsibility for inboxes, deadlines and deliverables
  • Eye for detail and interest in branding and visual consistency
  • Basic experience with Canva, InDesign or similar tools is a plus
  • Prefers to work fully on‑site, full-time (40 hours)

What will you learn and what will we offer you?

This role is perfect for a junior. You’ll develop your skills in maintaining and protecting the Mainfreight brand, as well as communicating effectively with our teams. You’ll learn to work confidently with Adobe Creative Cloud tools to elevate and optimise every project you take on. At the same time, you’ll gain experience working in a team environment that balances structure, deadlines, creativity, and responsibility.

We match your salary to your skill set when you join us, with the opportunity for your salary to grow as you continue developing yourself within Mainfreight. For those who are ambitious, and we know you are, there are plenty of development opportunities and room to grow. We believe in “promote from within” and are committed to investing in the development of our people.

We're Mainfreight

Our Story

Mainfreight delivers end‑to‑end international supply chain logistics, including warehousing, domestic and global transport, and air and ocean freight. With teams across Europe, Australia, Asia, New Zealand, and the Americas, we continue to expand our global footprint.

Our History

Founded in Auckland in 1978, Mainfreight quickly grew into New Zealand’s largest freight network. A major milestone came in 1984 with the launch of our first Air & Ocean branch. From there, our international presence grew rapidly through new branches and key acquisitions.

Our Culture

Mainfreight is built on the idea of “Special people, Special company.” This philosophy shapes our culture and has helped us succeed well beyond New Zealand. Our 100‑year vision guides everything we do, from hiring and training to how we work with customers, suppliers, and plan for long‑term growth.
