We have an exciting opportunity for an IT Network Engineer to join our small but dedicated Information Technology team based at our Melbourne branch in Melrose Drive, Tullamarine.  We are looking for a team player with a great attitude, the ability to multi-task, someone who strives to achieve targets and who is prepared to get in and get the job done.  

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer with extensive knowledge of network architecture, infrastructure, security and data integrity and be responsible for the uptime and availability of the network and services.

​In this role, you will need a thorough knowledge of Network architecture, security and data integrity. This is a “hands-on” role.

 

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Design and deploy networks - LAN, WAN, WLAN, switches and routers
  • SD-WAN, design, maintenance and deployment
  • Maintain and configure networks, security appliances, network software and other network devices
  • You will be involved in maintaining hyperconverged and backup environments
  • Prepare and test security measures (e.g. access authentication and disaster recovery)
  • Responsible for network availability and uptime
  • Incident resolution
  • Ensure the integrity, security and recoverability of data
  • Monitor network performance and integrity
  • Maintain complete technical documentation
  • Communicate with users when needed
  • Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity and scalability
  • At times you will be involved with all aspects of IT at the organisation 
 

Skills & Experience

  • Solid experience as a Network Engineer
  • Solid understanding of SD-Wan, networking and security architecture
  • Professional certifications
  • Experience with Backup services such as Veeam and Data Protector
  • Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools
  • Experience or knowledge of hyperconverged and security environments would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Infrastructure and services
  • A good communicator, verbal and written
  • Sharp troubleshooting skills, incident and problem resolution
  • Well presented, a 'team player' attitude and passionate about IT, with the ability to work independently when required
  • Ability to broaden your skillset
  • Desire to work in all aspects of IT
