Growing Our Presence Within Our Regions

Mainfreight Footprint Expands to Levin, New Zealand

Levin-Aerial-Aug-2020.jpgLevin, New Zealand, 10 August, 2020 – Today marks the day doors open to a brand new Mainfreight transport branch in Levin. As our business continues to grow, we are always looking for ways to better serve our customers.

Closer to our customers

Investing in our regions means a great deal to us and to the people in the area. After years of planning, the Levin depot is the first of our new regional depots to open, servicing the Horowhenua and Kapiti regions. Our customers in these regions will be connected to a much wider direct linehaul network, which will reduce the handling of their freight and provide faster more efficient deliveries.

Built with the future in mind

With the strong regional growth it was an easy decision for Mainfreight to invest in Levin.
Our purpose-built facility is located at the southern end of town, running parallel to State Highway 1.

The 4,000m² depot features –

  • A 2000m ² enclosed canopy, this will allow us to handle larger freight volumes throughout the year without weather affecting our operations.
  • designated area for our Mainfreight 2Home service, allowing us to segregate different types of freight.
  • 60,000 litres of rainwater storage for onsite truck washing, irrigation, and toilet amenities.
