AM Operations / Forklift Driver - Mainfreight (Hazardous Goods), Epping

ABOUT THE ROLE

The role will be varied but most of all you will be involved in the day-to-day loading of our customers’ freight to a number of local destinations. You will also be required to liaise and work with the Mainfreight Operations team and the various Mainfreight loaders on a daily basis to ensure that all of our valued customers freight is being loaded on the date of receipt and in the most efficient and profitable manner.

Longer term goals are based on helping develop the Chemcouriers brand in Australia while having a leading hand in growing the brand and the team in Melbourne.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transport, preferably with experience and knowledge in the handling and transporting of hazardous and dangerous goods; while this is advantageous it is not essential as comprehensive training will be given. However, a commitment to becoming a “specialist in hazardous goods distribution”, a good sense of humour and a good work ethic are a must.

You will be joining a very small team of people looking to grow what is a very young brand in the Australian market. With the branch still in a growth phase there are great opportunities for the right candidate to have a strong input into the development and future of the business.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Unloading linehaul units, loading & unloading local pick-up, and delivery trucks
  • Parcel sorting
  • Checking freight in and out of the depot
  • Manifesting of consignments utilising RF Scanner/ wand
  • Load Restraint
  • General housekeeping duties

 SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in loading/unloading interstate/PUD trucks
  • Forklift licence
  • Team Player
  • Easy to deal with & positive mindset
  • A strong work ethic and an eye for detail
  • DG experience (not necessary but preferable)
  • Ability to act in a fast-paced environment
