Air & Ocean Service Announcement | Changes to airline terminal service fees for airfreight customers

Mainfreight has received notice from Menzies Aviation that they will increase their terminal handling charges for both Import & Export Air Cargo. These increases will affect airfreight travelling on Emirates, Malaysian Airlines, Tasman Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Qatar Airways, Air Fiji, and Air Canada.

Effective 1 March 2021, to cover these changes, Mainfreight will increase our Terminal Handling Charges by NZD 0.03c per kg (Minimum $40.00) on all airfreight shipments travelling on the above-mentioned carriers whose cargo transits through the Menzies Cargo Terminal Operation (CTO).

Mainfreight continue to strive to find cost efficiencies for our customers, and while we have received other nominal increases from Menzies and other Cargo Terminal Operators (CTO's), we have chosen not to increase any other CTO charges at this time.

Where possible, we are happy to assess alternative carrier options serviced through other CTO's on a case-by-case basis. Mainfreight remain committed to finding solutions to help our customers mitigate cost as much as possible during these times of global supply chain disruption.

Should you wish to discuss these changes or require any additional information, please feel free to contact either the undersigned, or your local Sales or Customer Services contact.
