Upcoming Stink Bug Season - September to April 2017 / 2018

In preparation 2017/2018 Stink Bug season, below information to ensure you minimise the risk of infestation in break bulk and containerised sea cargo shipped from the United States.

What are Stink Bugs?

The Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (BMSB) is an exotic pest of biosecurity concern to Australia’s and New Zealand’s agriculture industry as they feed on and severely damage fruit and crops.

When is the peak risk period?

From 1st September to 30th April.

What does this mean for you?

During the peak risk period the Department of Agriculture will be targeting specific tariff codes, please follow this link for more information or contact your local Mainfreight customer service representative.
