Port Botany Slot Reduction at Patricks Terminal | August 2017

Posted on 1 August 2017

Patrick Terminal have advised that VBS slots at their terminal will be reduced to allow significant yard repairs to take place. The note from Patricks yesterday is below for your perusal.

When does this all come into effect?

Yesterday 1st of August. As per the email from Patrick yesterday. It will continue until 24th August 2017.

What will be the impact?

Slots have been extremely difficult to get hold of during booking times yesterday and again today for Thursday and Friday. We expect it to continue until the terminal is back to full operating capacity on 25th August. We look like being forced into weekend work to gain the necessary slots to avoid wharf storage charges. We will continue to monitor it and advise further on that in due course.

On the export side, we are struggling to get enough export slots to avoid missing cut off dates. We currently have 5 export containers that look like missing cut off. Our Operations team will be in contact directly with those customers affected.

We urge you to contact the Shipping Lines with your complaints as this looks like having a huge impact on the Transport Industry.

If you have any questions, please contact our team who will happily assist you in any way they can.
