Mainfreight's recycling programmes (paper, cans and glass) date back to 1989. We also have a longstanding practice of collecting and storing rainwater for truck washing, ablutions and irrigation.

Where possible, our new freight and warehousing facilities are built with environmental issues foremost in planning, and feature energy-efficient lighting and heating. Landscaping is designed to ensure we can beautify our land over and above local council requirements. Solar power opportunities for lighting are explored and, where feasible, installed.
