In 2007, Mainfreight became a national sponsor of New Zealand’s Life Education Trust, pledging NZ$200,000 a year to support the health and life skills programme’s growth strategy. Mainfreight’s sponsorship is allowing the Trust to increase the number of mobile classrooms and educators who deliver positive health-based messages to primary and intermediate-aged children throughout New Zealand.
Each year, 200,000 New Zealand children hear the Life Education message from specialist educators in distinctive high-tech mobile classrooms. Life Education in New Zealand was founded in 1988, based on a concept developed in Australia. Life Education is a preventative approach which teaches children about the wonder of life, themselves, and other people, with the aim of showing them how to reach their full potential.
