Mainfreight is a multi-modal company, using all modes of transportation to find the best match of transit time, cost and performance to meet your expectations.

At Mainfreight we utilise:

Road using New Zealand’s most recognisable fleet, both dedicated linehaul and our FTL (full-truck-load/bulk) fleet for overflow vehicles in times of heavy volume or seasonal demand.
Rail with rail sidings that carry Mainfreight consolidated container and wagon traffic from and into the heart of most of our major depots.
Sea using regular NZ-based freighter services, the Interislander, and international vessels that offer a competitive option for bulk freight.
Air when requested by our customers.

Mainfreight covers the country from Kaitaia to Bluff. With over 20 branches and sub-branches, we have the country’s biggest and most comprehensive network.

Every night Mainfreight’s linehaul trucks link the country together. Through our fleet of over 450 trucks we deliver to virtually every city and town in New Zealand. By serving these towns each and every day, Mainfreight has become and important part of these communities.
