TRANSPORT

Dangerous Goods

Chemcouriers specialises in the safe transport of packages chemicals and dangerous goods.

Chemcouriers was the first forwarder in New Zealand to be granted legal exemptions to the laws governing the segregation of dangerous goods. This means Chemcouriers can carry almost all major classes of dangerous goods on one vehicle.

Specialised Equipment

To achieve these legal exemptions, and to operate safely to ‘best practice’ standards, Chemcouriers use specialised equipment such as:

  • LTSA approved segregation devices, both on-deck and fixed to chassis
  • Truck bodies constructed to LTSA bus roll-over standards
  • Ongoing dangerous goods training
  • Mezzanine decks on linehaul units to avoid crushing damage
  • Cages and bins to protect smaller items
  • Emergency response equipment, both in our depots and on our vehicles

Our Advantage

Chemcouriers vehicles carry a prominent 0800 Emergency Response number which connects directly with a service line and chemical database and is manned 24 hours a day. This protects our team, our customers and the general public in the event of an emergency.

We use several different modes of transport in order to deliver the best combination of transit time, cost and performance.

Whilst general carriers concentrate on forwarding general goods and foodstuffs, Chemcouriers is able to consistently match or better their transit performance by using legal exemptions and avoiding incompatible products like foodstuffs.

Chemcouriers believe that all individuals involved in the distribution of dangerous goods should be trained to act in a safe and legal manner. To assist our drivers, team, clients and the general public, Chemcouriers offers a comprehensive range of training services.
